Welcome and Hi!
Thank you for taking the time to check out my photography website. I am a Certified Professional Photographer (CPP) through Professional Photographers of America located in Blount County TN including the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. Professional Photographers of America is the leading body for certifying imaging professionals. CPPs must complete a written examination, finish an image evaluation and adhere to a strict code of conduct. Certification must be renewed on a periodic basis, ensuring continued confidence in the professionalism of Certified Professional Photographers.
It is my goal to create images for you that will last a lifetime, instead of images that will go out of style when a new ‘fad’ of editing comes around. My style is classic and elegant, giving you fine art photographs you will be proud to pass on to generations to come. Your session can be in the studio or in the beautiful natural setting of the Great Smoky Mountains.
Living in the Great Smoky Mountains is the perfect place to use my photography skills. When not photographing people, I enjoy going with my husband, Tyson Smith, into the park to photograph wildlife and landscapes with him. If you are interested, you can find his work at Wild and Wonderful Photography.
Kathy Smith Photography, LLC holds a CUA (commercial use authorization) permit with the National Park Service which allows me to photograph your wedding or family portraits within the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, including the popular loop called Cades Cove.
Tyson Smith is a Craftsman and Master Photographer and also a Certified Professional Photographer through Professional Photographers of America. Tyson is also a 2017 Top Ten Photographer through the Tennessee Professional Photographers Association. He always photographs wedding with me. This gives our clients two views of their wedding day! Tyson is a 2014 Silver Photographer of the Year, 2015 Gold Photographer of the Year and 2017 Platinum and Bronze Photographer of the Year through the prestigious Professional Photographers of America.
Together, we and two other local photographers own the Smoky Mountain School of Photography. We teach workshops and tour participants to magical places in the Great Smoky Mountains so they can capture beautiful images.
Tyson publishes a quarterly, free e-magazine on photography and the Smoky Mountains. He has top named photographers write articles each quarter. Feel free to sign up at www.smsop.com
We both have images in the PPA Loan Collection, which is a high honor for photographers.
